Brain Markers of Cognitive Outcomes Following Electroconvulsive Therapy

In collaboration with Dr. Sara Tremblay at the IMHR, we aim to better document the effect of electroconvulsive therapy on cognition. Additionally, we investigate the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation and electroencephalography (TMS-EEG) measures to predict who is more at risk of presenting cognitive difficulties following treatment. Our findings could help with the development of new preventive and compensatory strategies for patients who receive electroconvulsive therapy and show signs of cognitive impairment.
