Holly Shannon, MSc

Holly completed her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University in 2019, followed by a Master’s of Science at Carleton University in 2022. Since Holly joined the CRANI lab in 2018, her research focuses on the intersection of the brain, mental health, problematic social media use, and stress. Currently, Holly is now pursuing her PhD in Department of Neuroscience at Carleton University, under the supervision of Dr. Synthia Guimond and Dr. Kim Hellemans. Her research will continue to explore the neurobiological underpinnings and risk factors for developing problematic social media use. Outside of academia, Holly enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family, playing the piano, and golfing.
